Roffa mon Amour is het meest magische openluchtfilmfestival in de zomer in Rotterdam. Van woensdag 14 augustus tot en met zondag 25 augustus 2024 viert het festival filmtalent van over de hele wereld en presenteert het ’s avonds films in de beeldentuin van Brutus. Roffa Mon Amour ontroert en ontroert je met een selectie kleurrijke en gedurfde films van nieuwe en bekende filmmakers, live muziek bij film en een verdiepend contextprogramma. Vanavond maken ze een uitstapje naar Amsterdam voor Het Filmplein en hebben ze de film 200 Cigarettes from Now voor ons geselecteerd.
Praktische details
Tijdens de filmscreenings van het Filmplein krijg je voor slechts €10 een gratis biertje (IJwit of Vrijwit) of frisdrank, een bakje popcorn en een koptelefoon in bruikleen om de film te kunnen beluisteren en kijken. De film begint om 22.00 uur.
De koptelefoons zijn vanaf 21.00 uur af te halen met je ticket(s). Mochten er nog kaarten beschikbaar zijn, dan kun je die ook vanaf 21.00 uur ter plekke kopen voor €12,50.
Let op: gekochte kaarten kunnen niet meer geannuleerd en/of vergoed worden.

Roffa mon Amour is the most magical open-air film festival in the summer in Rotterdam. From Wednesday, August 14 until Sunday, August 25 2024 the festival celebrates cinematic talent from around the world, presenting films at night at the sculpture garden of Brutus. Roffa Mon Amour thrills and moves you with a selection of colorful and daring films from new and known filmmakers, live music with film, and an in-depth context program. Tonight they make a trip to Amsterdam for Het Filmplein and selected the film 200 Cigarettes from Now.
Practical information
A €10 ticket for the Filmplein includes: a free beer (IJwit or Vrijwit) or soft drink, a cup of popcorn, and a headset on loan to listen and watch the film. The film will start at 10:00 PM.
The headsets can be picked up from 9:00 PM with your ticket(s). If there are still tickets available, you can also buy them on-site from 9:00 PM for €12.50.

200 Cigarettes from Now (2021)
NL: Kettingroken, dagdromen en luieren, zo brengen Xia en haar beste vriend Jie het grootste deel van hun dagen door in zijn appartement in Boston. De worstelende acteur Jie doet zo nu en dan audities en Xia, die haar studie in New York heeft opgeschort, schrijft scripts voor goedkope Chinese soaps terwijl ze vurig hoopt de jongen tegen te komen op wie ze verliefd is. EN: Chain-smoking, daydreaming and lazing about is how Xia and her best friend Jie spend the majority of their days in his apartment in Boston. Struggling actor Jie auditions from time to time and Xia, who has put her studies in New York on hold, writes scripts for cheap Chinese soaps whilst fervently hoping to meet the boy she is in love with. It could be the messy beginnings of the fabulous film career both dream of or the hedonism of some rudderless young adults clutching at the illusion they have all the time in the world. 200 Cigarettes from Now evokes the lives and emotional worlds of two creative young Asians abroad, using fleeting impressions with lashings of sweet C-pop. Told from Xia’s perspective, the film uses her fantasies, doubts, impulses and obsessions to provide a snapshot of the fragile moment at which nothing is set in stone and everything is still possible.
